Jeb Woody stepped off a Greyhound bus in Philadelphia in 2000. Armed with restaurant experience from back home in Texas, he began working in the burgeoning Philadelphia restaurant scene. Ellen Mogell, a veteran of the industry, owned and worked at Sonny's Famous Steaks in Old City. They met, fell in love and bought a home in Northern Liberties in 2002. Sick of going to South Philly for brunch, and craving the food from their respective childhoods, Ellen and Jeb decided to open a place a few blocks from home. In 2005 Honey's Sit N Eat opened its doors at 4th and Brown Street. In 2013 Ellen and Jeb opened a second location at 21st and South Street.
